the medieval institution of the free mountain communities of which the Magnifica Comunità di Folgariais a direct heir; the Belle Époque when the arrival of the aristocracy and bourgeoisie on the banks of Lake Lavarone started the new tourism; the Great War which left the seven Emperor’s Fortresses to remind us of a war fought on the crests of a border that no longer echoes with cannon fire but is immersed in the green peace of nature.
