There are places on the plateau that restore the soul just by looking at them, where the view disappears into the green of the woods and bright blue of the mountain skies.
This is one of the largest high plains in the Alps: the mountains surrounding it can be enjoyed by all hikers, from hikes among cowsheds and pastures to more demanding trekking around the seven Austrian-Hungarian fortresses of Worldwar I , in an authentic atmosphere and a natural environment of extraordinary beauty on the Altopiano is expressed in broad panoramas, extensions of luxuriant fir woods, the evocative Lake Lavarone, the Avez del Prinzep(the tallest silver fir tree in Europe and as such a natural monument), the Hofentòl waterfalls, the Ecken and malga Laghetto biotopes, the Mezzomonte geo-morphological trail, the Alpine Botanic Garden at Passo Coe and the educational trail The Giants of the Woods, on the Lavarone plateau. |
